 Managers’ time management issues relate to the proper utilization of resources.  Refocused and re-organized, often managers can reduce their stress by as much as 50%.  Time management problems are alleviated by factors which may not be in their line of sight.   I’ve managed in large corporations, government, small business and non-profit providing me with a first-hand view of the issues faced.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NON-PROFIT TRAINING

Many executive directors get the job much in the same way board of directors get theirs – they want to do some good in the community and believe they can do the most good this way.  However, there is little to no training for executive directors and they are shocked by expectations and the reality of the job.  There is no job description that is more jam-packed than this one.  This training helps the executive director get an understanding of their role.  Matched with the time management workshop, they are armed with the tools which will help them for years to come.

OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS

Operations are the silent thief of time, money and resources.  Yet, few people look at operations with a critical eye and with a thorough understanding of all the nooks and crannies of their world.  It is here where the left and right hands need to connect and where politics must take a back seat to the needs of the organization.  How?  How is that done exactly?  If your operations are top-notch, I should be able to:

  • sit at any desk and start working immediately
  • as a customer, I should be able to reach the right person quickly
  • when issues arise, they are dealt with swiftly and creatively

DEVELOPING WINNING TEAMS

Today, the word team has become meaningless.  Often the term means, “Do as I tell you.  That makes you a team member”.  Building a winning team takes a lot of work, time, motivation and most of all, eliminating the one factor which stops most people from participating fully and completely as team member.  Until managers understand how to build a safe environment, there will never be a team.  If you are serious about building a great team, take this course.  If you want to hear what you’ve heard before, don’t bother attending.  I’ve been some seriously great teams.  It wasn’t done with models, analysis or a lot of other “academic” notions.  You’ll be amazed what it really takes. 

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

People say that change is difficult.  It’s not.  Change can actually be energizing, fascinating and conclude in some incredible and sometimes unlikely results.  In actuality, change can become an every day occurrence but it must be handled right.  Most change – small and major – is poorly managed – the key ingredient is all but dismissed.
